Day by day

Itinerary

  1. 1

    Arrive Casablanca

Welcome to Casablanca! Your adventure begins as you touch down in the city, where the day is yours to explore or simply unwind after your journey. In the evening, join your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a delightful dinner at the hotel—your first taste of Morocco’s rich flavours and warm hospitality. Let the excitement of the days ahead sink in as you settle into this unforgettable experience.

  2. 2

    Casablanca – Fes

Today's adventure begins with a guided orientation of Casablanca. Snap a photo outside Rick’s Cafe, inspired by the classic film Casablanca. Afterward, marvel at the grandeur of the Hassan II Mosque, a symbol of the city which features the second tallest minaret in the world. The journey continues to Meknes, where you’ll witness the imposing gate to the Kasbah of Moulay Ismail, a relic of Morocco’s royal history. Upon arriving in Fes, unwind or opt for an unforgettable Optional Experience — an Arabian dinner with live entertainment, immersing yourself in the magic of Morocco.

  3. 3

    Fes Sightseeing and Free Time

Start your day exploring the wonders of Fes! Marvel at the 12th-century Royal Palace, followed by a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience at the non-profit American Fondouk, where you'll meet the volunteer veterinarians who are passionately dedicated to animal welfare. Then, enjoy panoramic views of the Medina from Borg Hill before diving into the vibrant Fez Medina with a Local Specialist, visiting the tanneries, Carpet Cooperative, and Medersa al-Attarine. The afternoon is yours to explore or opt for a Bhalil Revealed Optional Experience. Or you could dive into a hands-on cooking class at Bab Sahra Fez to learn the culinary secrets of traditional Moroccan dishes.

  4. 4

    Fes to Chefchaouen

Today, you’re off to one of Morocco’s key highlights — the 'Blue City' of Chefchaouen. Begin with an orientation tour, taking in the charm of this picturesque city with its iconic blue-washed buildings. Visit the historic Kasbah, nestled in the heart of the Medina, and explore its peaceful gardens and small museum. The evening is yours to enjoy, so you might want to relax at your hotel’s terrace for stunning views, or head to Place Outa El Hamam square. As night falls, the square comes alive with performers and local musicians, giving you an authentic taste of Chefchaouen’s culture.

  5. 5

    Chefchaouen to Rabat

This afternoon, you’ll arrive in Rabat and begin with an orientation tour of Morocco’s capital. Start by viewing the Royal Palace, the King’s official residence, displaying stunning traditional architecture. Then, marvel at the Hassan Tower, a 12th-century minaret and an iconic symbol of the city’s rich history. Finally, visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a beautifully decorated tomb that honours the late King and his sons. Your Local Specialist will share insights into the history and significance of these remarkable landmarks.

  6. 6

    Rabat to Marrakesh

Say goodbye to Rabat as you embark on a scenic drive through the heart of Morocco. Arriving in the 'Red City' of Marrakesh, you'll instantly feel the buzz of this iconic city, famous for its rich history, bustling souks, and stunning palaces. The city is yours to play with. Bargain for leather bags and lanterns in the souks, grab a mint tea overlooking Jemaa el-Fna or check out the carved courtyards of Bahia Palace. Fancy a splash of serious colour? Add an Optional Experience to Majorelle Gardens, restored by Yves Saint Laurent, with time to see its famous blue walls and explore the Berber Museum that celebrates Morocco’s Amazigh heritage.

  7. 7

    Marrakesh Sightseeing and Free Time

Start the day with an Optional Experience to the Ourika Valley, where you’ll sip tea with a local Berber family and hear about traditions in the Atlas foothills. Back in Marrakesh, join your Local Specialist at Dar El Bacha Museum, a former palace packed with intricate Moroccan design. Continue to the Koutoubia Mosque before hitting the full-on buzz of UNESCO-listed Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. The afternoon is yours, or add an Optional Experience in a vintage sidecar for a fresh spin on the city. Later, choose an Optional Experience and head back to Jemaa el-Fnaa after dark, or enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner.

  8. 8

    Depart Marrakesh

As your journey concludes, you’ll head to the airport to depart with unforgettable memories of your Moroccan adventure.

Travel at 60 Social Getaways

Travel further when you're not travelling alone

Our Social Getaways are small-group holidays designed especially for over-60s Australians who want the freedom of a great trip without the work of planning every detail. A Travel at 60 host travels with the group, the operator handles the logistics, and you get to focus on the bit that matters — the people, the places, and the stories you'll bring home.

Open to solo travellers too. Many of our travellers book on their own and find their feet quickly in a friendly group of like-minded Australians. Reduced single-supplement options are available on most departures — ask one of our consultants and we'll talk you through what's offered on this trip.

  • A friendly Travel at 60 host — an Australian face on the ground, looking out for the group from day one.
  • Curated local guides & boutique suppliers — the same operators we'd book for our own families.
  • Real itineraries, not whirlwind tours — comfortable transfers, breathing room, and the “off the beaten track” stops the big bus tours skip.

Want to talk it through? Call 1300 414 198 7 days a week, Queensland time, and one of our consultants will walk you through it.
