Itinerary

  1. 1

    Singapore

Arrive in Singapore, where cultures, flavors, and traditions meet at every turn. As arrival times vary, there is no scheduled sightseeing this afternoon. Settle in and head out when ready — whether that means tracking down a hawker stall or getting your first look at the city on your own.

  2. 2

    Singapore

This morning, get your bearings on a city tour as you see icons like Raffles Hotel, Marina Bay, and Tiong Bahru’s art deco blocks. Pause at a neighborhood coffee shop for kopi or teh and watch the morning unfold. In Chinatown, taste local favorites before dinner in a traditional Peranakan house, where your host shares personal stories of local life and the fading Baba Malay language.

  3. 3

    Singapore

Head into Joo Chiat, where stories live in rows of colorful shophouses. Step into a hands-on cooking experience and make popiah – a fresh spring roll filled with turnip, egg, and sweet sauce. Sit down for an Impact Moment at Dignity Kitchen, where meaningful employment creates opportunity and connection. Learn simple sign language to order your meal. This evening, it’s your choice! Sip a Singapore Sling at the iconic Raffles Hotel Long Bar -OR- explore the illuminated conservatories of Gardens by the Bay as they come to life after dark.

  4. 4

    Singapore - Malacca, Malaysia

Say goodbye to Singapore and head into Malaysia, traveling overland to Malacca — a UNESCO World Heritage Site shaped by centuries of cultural exchange. After settling into your hotel, experience the Encore Malacca show, where music, movement, and storytelling bring the untold stories of local life into focus.

  5. 5

    Malacca

This morning, get to know Malacca on a walking tour past its historic landmarks. See St. Francis Xavier Church, Stadthuys (Red Square), St. Paul’s Hill, and A Famosa. Visit the Malacca Sultanate Palace Museum and the Independence Memorial Museum. Pause for local snacks at a traditional coffee shop before a free afternoon to explore Malacca in your own way. As evening falls, return to the streets along Heeren Road, and Harmony and Jonker Streets, ending at a local restaurant for dinner.

  6. 6

    Malacca - Kuala Lumpur

Depart Malacca and make your way to Kuala Lumpur, stopping en route at the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, home to the world’s largest pewter factory. Learn about the history and cultural significance of pewter craftsmanship as you watch artisans cast, polish, and engrave pieces by hand — then try crafting your own. After arriving in Kuala Lumpur, step outside your comfort zone during a dining-in-the-dark experience, where your senses sharpen and visually impaired hosts guide your evening.

  7. 7

    Kuala Lumpur

Today, explore Kuala Lumpur by Vespa, cruising into the countryside. Stop at a family-run kelulut (stingless bee) farm to learn from a beekeeper about caring for these pollinators. 8. 8

    Kuala Lumpur - Penang

This morning, travel to Penang, stopping en route at Batu Caves, one of Malaysia’s most iconic cultural and religious landmarks. Explore the limestone caves and take in the towering golden statue. By afternoon, discover George Town, known for its colonial architecture and Peranakan culture. Experience the streets by trishaw and take in historic sites like the Clock Tower and Fort Cornwallis. End at the Clan Jetties, a UNESCO-listed settlement built by early Chinese immigrants on wooden stilts over the sea. Wander through this waterfront community before finding dinner on your own.

Travel at 60 Social Getaways

Travel further when you're not travelling alone

Our Social Getaways are small-group holidays designed especially for over-60s Australians who want the freedom of a great trip without the work of planning every detail. A Travel at 60 host travels with the group, the operator handles the logistics, and you get to focus on the bit that matters — the people, the places, and the stories you'll bring home.

Open to solo travellers too. Many of our travellers book on their own and find their feet quickly in a friendly group of like-minded Australians. Reduced single-supplement options are available on most departures — ask one of our consultants and we'll talk you through what's offered on this trip.

  • A friendly Travel at 60 host — an Australian face on the ground, looking out for the group from day one.
  • Curated local guides & boutique suppliers — the same operators we'd book for our own families.
  • Real itineraries, not whirlwind tours — comfortable transfers, breathing room, and the “off the beaten track” stops the big bus tours skip.

Want to talk it through? Call 1300 414 198 7 days a week, Queensland time, and one of our consultants will walk you through it.
