    Day 1 Cairns – Chillagoe
    As this holiday departs at 6.30am, accommodation will need to be pre-booked for the previous night. Start your holiday by climbing to the Atherton Tablelands. Travel on to Chillagoe, known for its marble mining and limestone caves.
    Hotel: Chillagoe Observatory & Eco Lodge, or Chillagoe Guest House (both shared facilities)

    Day 2 Chillagoe – Georgetown
    Board the Savannahlander train as it tracks the Ootann Road into Brahman cattle country. Watch the landscape change from limestone to granite to basalt country, as you head west across the Newcastle Range to Georgetown.
    Hotel: Latara Motel, Georgetown
    Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

    Day 3 Georgetown – Karumba
    Enjoy a morning ‘smoko’ on the shore of Croydon’s Lake Belmore. In historic Normanton see landmarks like the ‘Purple Pub’, Burns Philp General Store and a replica of Krys, the 8.63m crocodile. Continue to Karumba for a Gulf sunset cruise.

    Day 4 Karumba – Adel’s Grove
    Travel back through Normanton this morning and visit Burke & Wills Camp #119. Cross the vast ‘Plains of Promise’ to Leichhardt Falls and Burketown. Then it’s on to Adel’s Grove.
    Hotel: Adels Grove, Ensuite Room, 2 nights
    Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

    Day 5 Lawn Hill National Park
    Spend a relaxed day enjoying Lawn Hill National Park, an oasis set amid the spinifex clad Constance Range. Enjoy a cruise of Lawn Hill Gorge, a haven for bird and wildlife

    Day 6 Adel’s Grove – Normanton
    Visit Riversleigh Fossil Fields, recording the history of Australia’s mega-fauna. Enjoy lunch at Gregory, then call in at remote Burke & Wills Roadhouse, before travelling on to Normanton.

    Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

    Day 7 Normanton – Cobbold Gorge
    Take the Gulflander RM93 train across the savannah and Norman River to Critters Camp. Visit Georgetown and Forsayth en route to Cobbold Gorge.
    Hotel: Cobbold Gorge Cabins
    Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

    Day 8 Cobbold Gorge – Undara
    Cruise Cobbold Gorge through Hampstead sandstone cliffs. Visit the famous Undara Lava Tubes. There’s campfire entertainment after dinner, then retire to faithfully restored antique rail carriages.
    Hotel: Undara Lava Lodge
    Included Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

    Day 9 Undara – Cairns
    Breakfast in the bush, then take a tour of the 190,000 year old lava tubes, a geological spectacle. Visit Ravenshoe and the Atherton Tableland’s Curtain Fig Tree. Descend to Cairns where your adventure comes to an end.

    •  Day Prior – flights to arrive anytime into Cairns Airport
    •  Day 9 – We recommend guests to fly out the day after the tour returns to Cairns
